Glen. Hope you can see the colours well enough in good light to sort and put them in small bags and label them for use outside. I can only dream of dabbing pollen. Can't keep up with what I need to do. Watering pots is pretty time consuming at the moment. It is so nice to get a few more planted out into the ground.
My 'not ROSES IN SNOW' is becoming a deeper orange with a distinctive red halo. It has an edge that is partly red. I will send a pic to the seller and ask if they can id it. I did buy PAT MERCER from them, but it isn't really like PM. It is more like MAUNA LOA, which I have never bought from anyone.

LADY BRIGHT EYES had damaged buds and blooms earlier, but this was good today. This morning it was bright yellow and red. The UV index was 13 here today with strong winds Thumb of 2016-12-17/bron/952daa
This is the not unregistered 'Harmonie' that should have been a near white of great substance. It is a bit more violet purple than the pic Thumb of 2016-12-17/bron/695903

This is the base of the METAPHOR which I meant to plant a bit lower. It did have a scape recently. The white mark in the centre is where I pulled it out thinking it was dead. But I then saw the scape had 2 prolifs on it low down. I think the plant flowered a few months back, before I divided and repotted it.

I pushed away the mulch for the pic. Also an Amsterdam leaf celery is part shading it too.

I was surprised by this tonight. These three seedlings are nocturnal: they are up and running by 1am.

Glen. Lovely. No wonder u persevere with hybridising. What a beautiful double. An offspring of the King? Hope tomorrow my internet stays good long enough to post some FFOS that will open then.

We had a heavy shower as well as wind fo 55km/hr for most of the day. But not as bad as others got, and no hail. I carted 10 more wheelbarows of fill so I can plant out some more. But the top of my feet were getting sunburned. We have had UV index of 13 which is Extreme.

What lovely people you are!!

Donald, the double is highly perfumed at all times. It is quite an amazing bloom. It would be like an orb if you connected up the tips of the petaloids to the curve of the petals and sepals with thread. So far, all the blooms have been quite breathtaking. I photographed the last one from a few angles.

#WJ2014221 isn't perfumed. I will have to wait till #VO2016002 flowers again to give it a sniff.

Stan, so far the bloom is 5.5 inches and the petaloids jut outwards 4 inches from the curve of the tepals. This is its first scape at 23 inches.

Wow Glen. Your effort keeping them all fed n watered is being rewarded. The fiery double looks a bit spiderey or maybe it is just the chevron pattern. A clump of them would look like a bonfire.

I have missed posting some as a lot of the time my internet is hopeless. I compress the pics and save a file, but can't post. After trying all the tricks it sometimes reappears then cuts out after less than a minute. So I have ignored it a bit.

FFOS on CLOTHED IN GLORY. It is striking and has great substance, but I think it looks nicer in the last 2 pics than in person. The large edge and the throat are bright yellow. I think they clash with the pinkish petals. Also it is not at all a lavender pink as in 3rd pic.

Debra it is like as if a little light bulb is in the back of the bloom shining out.

Thank you Bron. I will probably post one last time for the year today. I am off to Victoria about 1100 miles south to see my 93yo mum for Christmas in Melbourne. I won't take my lap top.

Alas, being away from my garden and cats is a difficult and an anxious time.
