I like the lilacs just for the fragrant blooms.

These were the tall cedar shrubs that were planted so close to the house that when the house was painted so we're the shrubs. Those are the type of shrubs I can't stand.

I have three lilacs that I am deciding on a home for now.
Have a great day all!

@KarenDa and @FrillyLily, I just searched the site for "shrubs" and got so many hits, including articles, posts and forums where you can talk with so many about the various shrubs, etc. Here's the search:

Enjoy!

Frillylily the blooms are smaller but VERY fragrant. The foliage is larger than the Dwarf Korean and I like it better than the Dwarf.

Hey Joey howyadoing and happy new year ( belatedly );
Been wanting to post here again but been kinda busy, anywho this Sunday last I took my seed starts outside to transfer into paper pots. Since they're indoor starts I only put 2 seeds per planting using just 2, 36 capacity jiffy pellet trays. So I'm outside doing this and after about the tenth plant I yanked out of the pellet Crying I started to feel like warmed over youknowwhat Sighing! and thought of your post here D'Oh! , so long story short, I now have close to 150 plants back under my grow lights, some flowers but mostly veggies.

In my opinion, the Tin Man was just asking for his life to be more complicated.

LOL @josebaca. I do know how you feel. I've been pulling back the mulch on my peonies and after saying "where are you? When will you wake up?" about a thousand times, I finally saw some little pink pips peeking through. Then the question turned to, "Is that all? Come on guys...." In fact, I'm going out there now to talk to them.

Does scorn work? Naw, I'll talk nice.... nodding

I'd quietly explain to them that they are living there rent free - in my opinion the quieter the more serious you'll be taken - and that you're really not asking for MUCH!!! ...and that for all you do for them, the decent thing for them to do is GROW!!....and if they can't do that then maybe they'd be happier in THE ALLEY!! I do this with my dogs when I see rabbits in my garden, but I really don't think they get it, but who knows , maybe peonies would understand, they seem a lot smarter than Boomer and Baxter.

I'd like to join the crazy spot!! I mean have you read my posts?? I know I belong. In my seed bed the top two leaves of a sun flower went missing. I probably have 100s of seeds and I see some more sunflowers peeking out but believe it or not I've been mourning this one sunflower sprout all day!! I mumble to my plants and tell them to be good and to play nice. Directly in the middle of my big garden I can't
Reach and I loath this one dandelion that I swear is laughing at me. I have no idea what I am going to do when the middle plants start to die back. I just went crazy planting all these plants that I HAD to have and did not think about reaching into the middle. If I stretch too much Iam going to fall in. And that one laughing dandelion. I was thinking I need a long grabber so at least I could rip it's keaves off so that I can't see them. Oh what to do what to do.

Cheers to the crazy gardeners!! I've enjoyed reading this thread!!

Welcome to the crazy thread Mindi! Here's a bit of help for you--it would surely work in getting that one dandylion out!
The thread "The incredible, tiny, reaching rake!" in Gardening Ideas forum

And there are a lot of really great ideas in the Gardening Ideas forum (same place) that you might enjoy while you're there!

Hi Joannakat!!

Thank you for the welcome!!! 😀 I just went out to check on my plants, if the wind got to them and one of my little pansys that is closest to the wind had wilted. I was saying OH NO what happened to you??? I quickly gave him and the bed a water. Iam always checking on my plants throughout the day.

I have to check out that grabber!! I literally went hog wild lol.

Before the entire bed was grass and I ripped it out by hand. Oh yeah and weeds of course. I gift myself for weeding by getting more plants. Right now, we'll tomorrow, I will begin weeding the new bed. A new beginning. When I finally get a good amount out I can look at the plants again. I cannot window shop. I will end up bringing something home!!!

What really gets to me is when I accidentally cut a worm in half with the shovel. I truly apologize and put the halves back in the soil.

I feel horrible if I accidentally knock off a leaf or mush the leaf into the six pack plastic holders that the nurseries put them in. Or if I am removing the plant from the holder and not all the roots make it out.

I think we're a special breed!!! Lol. And what better friends than plants. They are like my pets. If my husband realized that I mumbled or got emotional with my plants I think he would say that it was time to go on not so fun of a crazy vacation!! 😀

I have a plant related hobby that drives my husband crazy. My aunt bought the kids a good amount of coloring books. Two of them are all garden scenes with bible excerpts and inspirational messages. Well I have fun coloring them. Whoever made these coloring books was very talented as you can tell what the plants are and they are very ornate. He says what are you doing? Coloring all night in the kids coloring books??? And I laugh and say yes!!!

Cheers and happy special gardening!!!

😀

Me too! Especially the part about the worm. I talk to those all the time too and, in fact, I have a bin of them in my basement! It's good morning wormie-worms, and I'll be back soon wormie-worms all the time!

I planted my first iris today. I had it wrapped in wet, shredded newsprint for three days before I had the pot and soil it needed. You should have heard me apologizing to it! And today, it was so stiff and perky and healthy looking, OMGoodness, you should have heard me praising it!

My immediate neighbor has grandchildren who kind of run the place. I couple of days ago, she caught me talking to the rising tulips. I simply explained, well, you have your grandbabies and I have mine!

Yes, we are special.

Doesn't help that my children blow dandelion fluff all over the grass, I mean weeds lol and my 8 year old blew one into my GARDEN!!! She said it was a prank. Lol.

So now I will be tending to more dandelions who are laughing at me in the center of my garden lol.

I need to check into that grabber rake thing!!!
