Me too! I had it in the house last winter and it bloomed all winter. Now it's doing the same thing in the greenhouse. Wish I knew it's ID.

I can't keep my begonias straight either. I have quite a few of them and several different types including one that is hardy in my Zone6 a real favorite.
I plant dwarf begonias as annual bedding plants throughout the gardens each year. I have some angel wing or cane begonias and tuberous begonias and then there are all kinds of interesting leaf and color ones. Rexs or something like that. I will try to dig up a few pictures for you.

Beds of begonias must be lovely! I don't think our zones would allow that.
Even if they would grow, our critters would eat them. We have roaming deer, rabbits and javelinas where we live in NM.

I know that our climate won't take begonias overwintering outside. Maybe we could plant them in the summer.....?!?! zone 3B

That's true, we could use them as annuals.

I like your begonias, Holly! I also took a quick look at your blog. I was raised the same, and have always been a water lover. We were lucky enough to live on the beach for 12 years in the Marshall Islands. The scuba diving there was incredible, and I'd often do 2 morning dives and 2 night dives. Those were great days!

Scuba diving is one of my great loves. How wonderful to have lived on the Marshall Islands.

Same here. There's nothing like it. While we were there we got to travel all over Micronesia to the other islands. We got to dive the ship wrecks at Truk Lagoon. I think it's now known as Chuuk. Along with the diving, there are so many other fun activities like seashell collecting, Wreck diving, underwater photography, and collecting and raising salt water fish.

nice - I saw a lady's head once, where they planted a snake-like cacti in it - really looked like Medusa's head......

Lots of plants look good in these head type planters.

This Begonia seems to think it needs to compete with its' tree companion. The top of the pot is just below my knee, the top of the plant is about waist level.


It's making the fattest new stem I've had on any Begonia so far. It's about 9" tall so far.


(It's a NOID cane type.)

What are you feeding that monstrosity?

Compost tea a few times while outside for summer.

Man, I need some of that stuff.
