@daisyrider - that's what "I" was taught that lovely big begonia was called, by my grandmother And my Dad - its leaves are about the size of a man's hand, right? Now, the Angel Wings are the tiny ones that are about 2" long, and 1/2" wide.........
Had a heckuva time finding one, but now I have, and you're right - they're hardy. Mine's coming back after suffering the summer 2015 outside, in a pot, and being blown over more times than I can count. It also got frozen a couple of times.
It's 4' tall and has 9 leaves near the top - they're starting to come lower though - used to only have 2 leaves at the very top
I love it when it reaches its full potential of 5 - 6 ft tall, with all the cascading bunches of flowers!
