In that case you would need to manually uncheck the "Available for trade" checkbox when the time is up.

Dave, having people manually remove plants that are no longer available was a problem at the other site. There will inevitably be people who create list then don't maintain them. Many time I have requested plants that had not been available for quit some time. Perhaps one way to help with this problem would be for an automated system message to be sent to everyone with plants set for trade or sale, to remind them to clean up their list. Set the message to be sent out periodically, like the 1st of every month with a message like. "You currently have plants listed for sale or trade. Please take a moment to check your list and remove any that are no longer available."

I am very aware of that problem, Jay, and I'm giving it a lot of thought.

Your idea to contact the person is a good one.

Additionally, I am storing the date and time of every change made to your item list, and I can use that timestamp to make decisions in the software about the freshness of your list.

So, if you have a stale list (6 months old, perhaps) then I can decrease its priority in the publicly viewable area. It would appear at the bottom, with a note of caution letting you know that it's old and might not be accurate anymore.

The timestamp could also be use to send a system message reminder to that individual when there listing goes beyond certain milestone, such as every three month. Sending only to those with older listings might be better than my original idea of sending a message to everyone with plant listed for trade or sale.

Will the plant database show who has a desired plant available for sale or trade? I'm just wondering if there might be some automated way to match up "wants" with "haves."

I agree That is a darling photo. Was that a functional tractor?

I was wondering, are we going to be able to sort our lists, other than by category? And (greedy person here) is there any chance that at some point we might be able to print out our lists?

The tractor was functional, yes. It was at a family member's farm in Wisconsin. I've always loved tractors. Smiling

Yes, lots of sorting options will come. Print-ability will come, too!
