An excellent green cos . Very dependable here.
What a beautiful Lettuce! Does anyone know how well it would do as a container plant on our apartment balcony here between Houston and Galveston? I know I could tempt the wife away from her old standard "Iceberg" from the "chain" grocer down the street if I could coax a few of these varieties to grow here.
Green Bibb type lettuce with a small, loose head.
I grew Oakleaf lettuce last year. It was my first time trying the oakleaf variety. It is supposed to resist bolting, which is why I grew it. While mine did not bolt, I find that I did not care for the small, not so tender leaves.
A small, green, romaine-type lettuce.
A very vigorous red Romaine type. Doing exceptionally well this spring. Not as dark as Red Rosie but quite pretty in its own right.
This is an old variety that does well here in the early spring. Heads are tight and delicious but smaller than modern commercial varieties.
Not a big fan of leaf lettuce, but this one is much better than usual.
I've never grown head lettuce before...the leaves are getting bigger...do I pick these or leave them? I don't know how the ball is formed or if these leaves are a part of the formation.
A good performing lettuce that is a very attractive red.
