There would be forecasts and reports like:

"It's dry out there today. It's going to be mostly wilty with a chance of complete collapse."

"It's going to be a 3 headband morning."

"Chance of needing to water plants today is 60%."

Instead of saying how much rain was in a gauge, they would say how far into the soil it soaked.

What's your garden forecast?

In my area, our version of that forecast would be, "Go ahead and water because that 80% chance of rain will only occur if you do. If you don't water, not a single rain drop will fall." Rolling my eyes.

Oh, and an addition to that forecast, "Be sure to take an umbrella with you when you go out to water plants because it will start pouring just as you've finished and are rolling up the hose." Angry Hilarious!

Since Paula spent her whole paycheck at the nursery yesterday you can expect dangerously high temperatures and not a drop of rain for the foreseeable future.

Amusing replies!

Frank, that last one applies in my area today. Hope this Fred thing isn't too much of a pot-slinger!

Oh, let it shine, c'mon
Now everybody just sing along
Let the sun shine in
Open up your heart and let it shine on in
When you are lonely, let it shine on
Got to open up your heart and let it shine on in
And when you feel like you've been mistreated
And your friends turn away
Just open your heart, and shine it on in

RpR, I gotta say I've not been that impressed with the age of aquarius so far. Maybe it's still dawning.

Brenda, I think they're doing the best they can. SOOOO many times I see rain headed my way, directly on track for my yard, but then it just disappears. Very hard to predict even 15 minutes into the future for that kind of thing. And these storms speed up and slow down. Sometimes they go around in loops. But I appreciate what you are saying. Inaccuracy is not an option at my job.

Take care and I hope Fred makes a quit exit from your area!
Drought one place, tropical storms and ark building in others; crazy!

Thank You! I tip my hat to you. We definitely needed the rain as the 95 degree days and lack of rain we had for the last few weeks wasn't helping anyone. But, I think I would appreciate it if the weather would space the rain out some more. Hilarious!

It is, isn't it?! Sighing!
