Looking at changing a plant's details in the database, there is a pull-down menu for endangered status. Is this based on Nature Serve's status reports? If so, it seems they have changed their wording from 'endangered' to 'imperiled'. If not, what standard does the database use?

Clearwater Phlox (Phlox idahonis) is listed by Nature Serve as having a global status of G1 Critically imperiled. Is this the same as critically endangered?

No, it's based on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

Looking at Nature Serve, I would say their "Critically imperiled" is equivalent to IUCN's "Critically Endangered".

I had literally written, "Okay, thanks", and was wondering if I should add anything else when the power bleeped out. And I have no battery backup to this (desktop) computer, so I waited until the wind and rain died down before powering back up. So far, that was the only power outage, but I'm trying to type fast, because we often have outages after the storm, as crews are cleaning up...

I wouldn't say the sun has come back out, but the sky is much lighter, and the wind and rain have moved along to wreak havoc elsewhere. Ian landed in Georgetown, SC about 15 minutes ago, which is bad news for the folks there and just north of there, such as Myrtle Beach. Yikes!

I hope all the folks affected by this storm have an easier recovery than seems likely at this point...
