There were a bunch that had multiple keikis but there weren't named so I was hesitant to pick those up.

I am trying to behave myself. Smiling

I went to the Tampa Orchid Club meeting today and this little lady followed me home. This is Bulbopetalum Midnight Blue 'Cardinal's Roost'.

Can anyone point me to where I might find one of those beauties in Canada? I've checked Paramount, Orchids Canada and Clouds...

There are a lot of blooms yet to open so I will take more pics. What sold me was the pretty white floofy edging around the lip.

You could well be right, Ursula. The top of the name tag was broken off and missing. When I asked the vendor about it I thought she said Bulbopetalum. It well could have been Bollopetalum, both new to me. Either way, I'm keeping it.

Jim

P.S. Thanks for the catch!

I was over on the coast on Sat. and stopped at Eorchids in Half Moon Bay. I picked up 3 NoName Masdevallias. The plants are all similar in both growth habit and flower, except for the color (all shades of orange). I think they are seedlings from the same cross. I got them to evaluate potting mixes (something I'm very involved in right now). I haven't had a chance to get out the camera since I'm working on a major redo of my deep shade landscaping. Maybe this evening...
That reminds me that I should post some shots of my odd Brachychitons (Australian Bottle trees) that are growing in my back yard.
In other news, the peonies and Rhodys are in full bloom right now and all the Japanese maples are fully leafed out, and the weeds are trying to take over the yard, it must be spring for sure!

Ha ha!! I'm still in denial about weeding. I spent a week in Half Moon Bay once but it was before my "life with orchids." I'd love to know more about your potting mixes. Never heard of a Brachychiton! Your garden is probably a month ahead of me here.

I'm in denial about weeding too Confused Thistles are starting to come up by the dozen and the grass is establishing itself in the beds...I'm off Saturday so hopefully then!
