When I first became interested in palms 15+ years ago, I picked my varieties by rarity and unusual appearance of the fronds. One of the palms that really struck up my interest were the Iguanuras. I bought this little Iguanura wallichiana var. wallichiana from I think Floribunda, but it could have been Kapoho Palms. A friend who grows palms for a living told me that Iguanuras were finicky and hard to please, needed constant high humidity, and shade. I figured I could do that. My plan when it came was very small, maybe only about 6" fronds. It took YEARS to get fronds that were over 12 ". It was prone to fertilizer burn. The least little thing seemed to set it back. But now, all this time later, it is really doing very well. And it has made a cluster of children!!!!! SO I am pretty excited about that
