When I planted last fall, I had a large bag of mixed late season tulips that I did not put in because I did not have the desire to to battle frozen ground.
Now they sat in a cool , less than 50 degrees room all winter.
Can these be planted in spring or should I just wait till fall and see how many survived next spring?

Of the ones I planted, about one half are already 3 or more inches out of the ground.
As they are all late tulips, a bit surprising.
I do fear a bit for those not up, as it is a roof drip location but others have grown there in the past.

A lot of blank spots; it is still early but I am starting to wonder.

We had some pretty cold weather last week, in the mid teens in southern mn.

I did some checking yesterday and it appears at least one half of my new tulips rotted in the ground.
those I put in container, with a drainage hole all rotted; the ones I put in the ground on the roof drip line, ground which is very porous, have rotted also.

Those next to the house foundation came up early and doing real well.
An expensive lesson but a lesson never the less.

They really need sharp drainage

My Red and Yellow tulips came up OK but some thing has snapped two of the yellow blooms off.
It did( not eat them just snapped them off and left them lay.
I kinda sorta think it might be a renter who had mental problems as I have never had flower blooms just snapped off before.

The renter also left a dead squirrel that I know was laying at the curb side on the road infront of another renters door; after dealing with him for months now we and his brothers almost wish he would cease to exist.
Of course if the wacko did not do it, it is really odd.

Was it at an angle the snap?

It is a bit hard to tell but I just found a red one lying on the ground.
Squirrels have a bird feed full so they have no reason to bother any thing else.

Found rabbits cut them at an angle part way up the stem

I found one snapped off today as well - just below flower, thinking about squirrels or weird weather ( cold /windy ). Probably squirrel.
