@valleylynn

Sorry for the confusion. I meant 'Cosmic Comet' sedum in the Sunsparkler series.

Well @valleylynn I can tell you that I now have just one or two Semp's left and most have died in their pots. I am guessing that I will have to stick to those succulents that
do much better than Semp's which include Crassula, Adeniums, Euphorbias and Sedums.

Sorry to hear that William. At least you can still indulge in the kind of succulents that survive your zone. I am a small semp collector and still hold out for a couple of tender succulents to survive on my covered balcony deck. I've managed to save an Echeveria agavoides and a Graptopetalum which I push against the deck wall and cover them with shade cloth during the winter months.

my semps have been pretty stable but it doesn't rain as much here. I don't think any webby ones lived. succulents did pretty well too. I watered not more than once every 10 days. The soil mix from Lynn's recipe worked well

Hurray. So glad the soil recipe is working for you Alice. It can be a tricky thing to find a mix that works for our semps. So many challenges with weather conditions.

It's RAINING IN OREGON!!! YEHAW!!! After no rain for several months and record temperatures, this feels good.

We had another taping session of blogs by the crew from Mountain Crest Gardens last weekend that will be available soon. The first group that was shot in the spring is being edited by Matts' sister and she will be working on these as well. These will feature some recent developments in my patch and talk about the creation of the giant strains and what new plants are coming down the pipes that should be available soon. We've never talked about semps this time of year but I think learning about cultivars that have year round color is something we should aspire. After this AWFUL summer, things that looked good DESPITE this are exciting.

I agree Kevin, this rain is glorious. I am so thankful, I know the plants are also thankful.
I also agree that having new cultivars that have year round color retention is a very good things.

Im glad you are finally getting rain.
Here in Pennsylvania, we are drying out a bit but the mosquitos are wicked.

I took this photo a while ago at a local garden center. (With everything going on it was forgotten.) I thought it looked great though I'm not sure how well the non succulent plants would grow in the long term.

Sharen,

Helen Payne just threw extra bits of sedums and semps on the roof of a garden shed and it was just beautiful. Of course S. tectorum grows on roofs allover Europe as a charm against lightning.

Here are two pictures of the only Semp's that I have left!

I think that the first picture is S. globiferum ssp. hirtum 'Mecsek Mtns. Type A'
Thumb of 2021-09-21/Willinator/d98961
And the second picture is two examples of S. globiferum 'Emerald Spring'

Crying I am so sorry they are not happy in your climate. Group hug
But there are so many things you can grow well where you are, that I can not grow here.
