Hello.

I have this Pachypodium for 10-11 years now. Don't even remember from who and where I bought it.
I live in Brazil, acquired it in São Paulo State. Does anyone have an idea on what species and variety it may be?

Thanks!

I agree I have one I've had for longer than 10 or 12 years (maybe 30 years) but not nearly as gorgeous as yours. Lovey dubby

Thanks for the ID!!

And for the compliment, the plant appreciates it Smiling . I am fond of it, its one of my earliest plants. I was 15 years perhaps when bought it.

This is a photo of it back in 2011. Sorry for the bad quality, its from a picture of the whole backyard.

By the way, is it an easy species to propagate from cutting? Never tried but I'm thinking in doing so. What would it be the better seasonal stage for the cutting?

Thank You! Thank You!

I've never heard of it, but other Pachypodiums can be pretty easy from cuttings, so it's worth a try. I would do it in the late spring, or whenever the plant seems to be leafing out for the season.

Pachypodiums are a 'caudiciform plant' and a cutting
will never have the nice bulb of a base.
Yes it will start from cuttings, it just won't have the same form.
I have seen many Desert Rose plants started from cuttings
and they never form the caudex.
