Melon Balls is a nice old cultivar. It's been very reliable for me, over many years. It always puts on a good show in Midseason. It's not the most exciting Daylily but it has a few nice features.
One thing that I like is that the flower goes from a cantaloupe color in the morning to a light rose by evening. Also on hot days, it earns its name by rolling the petals back and presenting itself as ...wait for it...a melon ball!
