Hemerocallis 'Eli Monster' (Murphy, 2014) Photo by F.D.Richards, SE Michigan, 9/2020 - Tall lemon Daylily Dily, hem-ur -oh-KAL-iss, Mature size: 60", 6.5in. light lemon tepals with pinkish red band, can go to seventy two inches and 50 buds, sometimes measures as a four to one spider, but not completely consistent, USDA Hardiness Zone 3, Michigan Bloom Month 7a, In Garden Bed R2 for 23 MONTHS (Murph). Planted in 2018.
Per Jim Murphy: Tall with tremendous branching. Yellow curled or twisted blooms (Crispate) with a light reddish band. Light fragrance, sunfast and rainfast. Improvement on ELI MURPHY in terms of color and bloom presentation. Normally has 5 way branching. Normally has 30 buds. Sometimes goes to 6' tall, with 50 buds. Long blooming, sometimes a spider. 2020 note: of the Murthy tall daylilies that I planted 2 years ago in this garden, this is the tallest so far. It is also a later bloom than the others. It's aug 9th and it has not bloomed yet. Really nice group of blooms in late August. Measured at 56 inches tall. Still in bloom in mid September.
