Hi I recently took this out of the ground it had grown and risen out of my tar Mac in my car park up it's about 25cm cubed

Its a type of fungus ....aka: "earth ball" or "hard puff ball"

some are edible - some are only edible if white on the inside

not sure its a funghi if im honest looked online at photos of the two you mention and this looks nothing like any of them.

It reminds me of some type of flowering bulb because I think I see "eyes"; one on the left and a couple at left bottom.
