Paeonia 'Rivida' (John Harrell, 1985) is a single lactiflora cultivar of unknown parentage: Violet-red, single, lightly fragrant, midseason, 30" tall, looks pink, first bloomed in 1950s, red seed pods good for dried arrangements. One of the most interesting points of this cultivar is that it is named after two grandmothers, Riva and Ida. Registered by Steve Varner, Monticello, Illinois,1985. This is the only peony listed in APS for Harrell.
