Hi! So I've had my majesty palm for roughly a year now and it was doing great. I have it under and grow light that I turn on for about 4 hours a day and I water it every week-week & 1/2. I left it with my roomate for a month or so and came back to it having turned brown and dry. 3 of the main fronds have green stems but completely brown leaves that are shriveled up and very crunchy. Is there a way to revive the plant without having to get rid of most of its fronds?

Brown and crispy fronds are in fact dead. You can not reverse the process and have them go green again.

Once Majesty Palms go into serious decline, it's usually too late, and I do believe that that is the case here.

They do NOT have the reputation for being easy houseplants as you may know. I would not be too quick to blame your roommate though. Looking at your picture, your pot looks rather large for the pot and the soil looks heavy/moisture retentive. These plants would prefer a loose/well-draining soil that is kept moist. So a smaller container with a lighter mix (added perlite, orchid bark, etc.) is their preference. These palms are different from most other palms, their soils should not dry out, ever, but they also need a loose soil, a bit of a contradiction. They are water lovers, in fact, in their native environment, they grow alongside rivers with occasional inundations.
