Hail damage isn't as bad as I expected. Tonight is supposed to get down to near freezing. Lots of challenges in my gardens this spring.

Cool this week, currently 30 and light snow, some hostas are up slightly, afraid I may have a lot of vole damage.

I need to get pictures of my hostas. I have some that are almost full size and some that are just barely peeking above ground. I actually had to dig around on some a couple weeks ago just to make sure they were alive since I have some going gangbusters already. Had to do the samw with my roses too, same story. Really weird Spring this year.

I noticed a few days ago that one of my big 'Striptease' was showing signs of sporting. I'd seen something on it last year and this year it seems to have somewhat spread, so, time to uplift the plant and divide it. Time will tell how this will stabilize...
Cheers,
Pieter

Thanks Rj. Voles aren't much of a problem here anyway, our major nuisance rodents are rats....

Did anyone else have Mito no Hana ordered from Brian White? He lost all of them this winter so I guess I'm not going to get one of those.

Did my first roll call of my hostas on Sunday. Of 224 plants, 75% have shown themselves. And I've found another since when I looked at the last picture I took last autumn. I had gotten it out of a pot and into the garden, but hadn't recorded where I put it. A handful are definitely not up yet, but they are mostly traditional late comers. The rest, are unknown because I can't yet walk far enough into the gardens to look for them w/o risk to emerging plants or because they are under leaves that haven't yet been raked out or under crocus foliage where I won't see them until they get a bit bigger. And it keeps raining. I'm not complaining as we need it - didn't have much snow this year, but it sure puts a damper on getting out there.
