I'm hoping to get suggestions for a replacement perennial for my low performing chrysanthemum. It doesn't flower as much nor as lovely as it did when purchased ~5 plus years ago. I'd prefer a yellow-flowering bloomer that won't get over 1-2 feet tall and isn't too invasive. The location receives sun to dappled sun from mid-morning to mid-afternoon. I had the clay based soil removed 10+ years ago and replaced with a gardener's mix which has performed adequately. At almost 80 years old, I'm hoping to get a fuss-free plant with an extended blooming period. And I live in the pine tree belt in east Texas which my azaleas love. Thank you for your help and suggestions. Be blessed in your beds!!

Some coreopsis? More of summer bloomer than fall though
Plant it and they will come.

Thank you sallyg,
I might try them again. Perhaps in a new location they will perform better than my previous attempts over a decade ago. Thanks again

Though coreopsis does typically bloom earlier, my 'Zagreb' coreopsis is showing fall blooms now.

Thank you pirl. I'll need to research how they tolerate the heat and humidity in Texas. It's been a tough one this year but then so has it been in much of U.S. of A.

Stone, thanks so much for your suggestions. I'll probably re-attempt rudbekia and research the others. I so enjoyed visiting your pics. You surely are a very busy kind of guy. Loved the bird/butterfly friendly varieties you are growing. Kudos to you. Love watching my cardinals, wrens, bluebirds and mockers. Not so much on blue-jays as they're such bullies. We're in the same growing zone so your suggestions should work here. Be blessed!!
