Love those two Scott, I find the minis are so easy to handle and stick in here and there. Wish I could be at Tropiflora's blowout sale tomorrow.

I wish I was going, but I have other plans.
Good news is The USF Botanical Gardens here in Tampa hosts the Bromeliad Bash Sat Aug 26 from 9am-2pm. Hurray!

I have thought that also! Not just for those cool plant sales but also to plant these beauties outdoors.

I get a craving for candy corn when they start to flower.

Agggghhhh, I am going to have to invest in Black Chantini, that is an outrageous color combination.

I may have to trade in my Bil. 'La Vie En Rose,' that monster is getting entirely too tall.

Nice bloom Scot Thumbs up Thumbs up They do sort of look like candy corn when they first come up.

Dave don't you just love to see pups emerging Lovey dubby

I found some goodies yesterday at the Seminole Bromeliad Society's annual fall sale in Sanford. Check your local Bromeliad society sales, they really have some good prices.

I too have a thing for the mini neos, especially the very prolific. My Zoe is one of my favorites of the minis, took this yesterday....

Here is a cool one that came home with me a couple of weeks ago. It came with a name but I find no brom with that name anywhere. I will say its a noid for now.

Edit*
The plant was purchased only as Bromeliad 'Felix' at Lowes. After a little research I found the name was misspelled and should be 'Felice' a Albo form of Aechmea 'Fascini'

I am a little excited here! Here is a first look at two of my Aechmea 'Alvarez' X A. 'Mend' seedlings at 1 week of age. I have many popping up at this time.

This was the spot I was growing Neo Yin in for a few years.
Thumb of 2017-09-02/ScotTi/1de984
I could not understand why the pups that grew from the original 'Yin' never looked like the mother. I now have read that albo marginated Bromeliads may not produce new plants true to the original.
This one had produced more red coloration when it came into flower this year.
Thumb of 2017-09-02/ScotTi/5ad04e
Now I am noticing that it has produced 2 pups that have started with the red colors from the get go.
Thumb of 2017-09-02/ScotTi/54963e
And this pup produced last year is sorta plain.

I see the coloration changing to white now as flowering is finishing...

Mother nature took the seedlings out yesterday with 5" of rain. Still have seeds and will try again, this time in pots not in the ground.

Sad

We have had so much rain this year some of my broms are looking unhappy. I don't think they like water in the vase all the time.
