Linda, I can't see any photo!

On my tablet I did not see he yellow on tail in Kims photo but on the computer it is very clear what it is!

Linda, I can't see your photo, either. It says this inside a square, "Thumb of 2015-07-31/LindaTX8/c5dbdb[/lightbox
And a surprising visitor came one morning, probably a Rufous or Allens Hummingbird passing by.
[lightbox]2015-07-31/LindaTX8/7c6b5c"

And if you click on it is says "Image failed to load." Something went wonky!

Hopefully it's fixed now! It doesn't take much to mess it up.

Thanks! It's always nice to see a different kind of hummer during the summer, when there's usually only one species for a while. I've noticed the hummers are coming to the feeder less right now. They mostly come to the Flame Acanthus flowers...and we have many right now! That makes the orioles happy, because they don't have to compete with the hummers much!

I still see quite a few hummers around, it sure is hard to photograph them. I was standing about 2 feet away from a large potted Bee Balm yesterday when 2 female hummers started fighting, one flew off and the other went around several flowers before it flew off. Lovey dubby The camera was a few feet away from me of course. Glare

I must have lost my mind earlier. I was sure I posted my photo on this thread. I hope I didn't post it somewhere else.

A red shouldered hawk I shot today. Not the greatest photo as I shot it "on the fly". Whistling

I've never shot one on the fly, so I think it's a great photo! I like how you can really see the pattern on the feathers.

Ann, oh my ... that is a wonderful shot of the hawk on the fly! Hurray!

I was out on my back porch this afternoon and heard a loud "GAAWK" like sound and when I looked out, I spotted a Hawk that had a little green heron in it's talons. The heron was making such a ruckus that the hawk dropped it ... right in the water! The heron flapped those wings so fast and it seemed okay because it got airborne and took off in the opposite direction of the hawk and flew into some dense shrubbery across the waterway!
