Hi. I need to add more .. playing a lot of catchup in the garden

People try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved

OMG! Rosie you are amazing with the ideas. I've done a bit of garden art in past years. The best thing I ever did was a terracotta pot man. He turned out splendid, but sorry I don't have any pics or camera for that matter.

I've given away garden tools and countless other things I could have turned into garden art, but hindsight is 20/20.

I will def watch this forum. Keep up the great work all of you artists. It makes the world a more colorful place.

Hello I'm usually in the rose forum and stumbled across this. I have a few things I've made for my garden from junk in the garage for my rose garden.
Thumb of 2019-07-06/PineapplePeg/4bc536
Took this old lamp apart filled the inside with solar lights and the top is a cheap$1 solar stake and wired the shade on.
Thumb of 2019-07-06/PineapplePeg/286a1e
This is an old mop handle, some old pipes and a watering globe filled with solar lights
Thumb of 2019-07-06/PineapplePeg/667e7b
An umbrella and old kitchen faucet with twinkling lights. And no garden would be complete without a watering can
Thumb of 2019-07-06/PineapplePeg/b38d62
And it's all solar!

My kids gave me those tiny tiny tear drop sized lights.. did not know what to do ...now I know!

How did you get the lights in that blue bulb with the long stem (seen lit in the last photo ) ?

I bought a huge gate... I could not resist. No idea what to do with it. I have some paths i could set it in front of, but hubby drives down those to collect limbs and such ..no way the truck could go through this gate as big as it is.

I will upload a photo when its set up .. its out in the garden now but so are the mosquitos

There is a couple YouTube video that might help you. They're a little different than mine but you'll get there idea. I wrapped the opening with black electric tape and while upside down and filled with lights I used silicone to glue it in place. The videos are solar glowing water faucet and solar faucet garden light. I'm sorry I don't know how to add the link
I just threaded them in. I used the 100 light string

It's thin wire and really easy to do. I hope this helped

I Really would Love to have a mini Chicago Bean (cloud gate) in my garden! Something maybe 3-4foot long. If anyone does styrofoam sculptures please let me know. For those that don't know what it is here's a couple pictures.
Thumb of 2019-07-07/PineapplePeg/d3d43b
Doesn't have to be styrofoam but something that I could add legs and move around and doesn't have to be painted.

Thumb of 2019-07-07/PineapplePeg/d83b60
I was thinking I could even cover it with aluminum foil. Sorry I kinda got off track.
Thanks again

I love that too! What a great idea to put some sparkle and shine along your sidewalk or for a focal point in the garden.

I hope these will not take forever to load. That is my main reason for not being as active here .. the internet speed in these woods sucks! Ok for internet stuff...bad for photos.

I found a water decanter in a vintsge store for $2 and a topper for $1.50 ( same shop different room ) Good thing the owner woukd have put a $15 tag on it 😊
I love the blue top.. the rain gets in it tho.

I may have shown this before.. I just painted it.. it is the bottom of a sewing machine stand.. just one side " leg "

Now I have to say the photos I post are going to look a bit screwy because in order to show you the gate I mentioned the other day, I had to run outside.. The skeeters were waiting. ( I knew they would be ) and so if anybody saw me in my sky blue jammies.. they would have seen an old lady with her iPAD jitterbugging like crazy to some unknown music as she hopped around the garden... they did get me behind the knee. This is the gate. Its 7-8/feet. I would have come closer but I saw a copperhead slithering under a metal turtle I keep nearby. This is one entrance to our prayer garden.. please excuse the mess. My hubby retired last week and the pirst thing he did was buy pallets of brick to extend around the ground near the shed....AND huge slabs of something to make a fire pit. THIS IS THE MAN THAT WONT LET ME KEEP A LIT CANDLE ON THE SCREENED PORCH. HE IS AFRAID OF FIRE. And when I inquired about the site...he said in the prayer garden you made for Butch. ( my BROTHER ) Oh noooooo
