Yikes I remember that sort of winter when I was a kid. One New Years morning it was -32 F and with BLOWING SNOW. My comment, "Why are we living here?". Of course fall is beautiful in MA but I'm too old for the severe weather any more. Oregonians are weather wimps!
The good news is that, other than 'Commander Hay' I never lost a semp to winter cold in MA. The Commander and I said farewell to each other every year until I finally decided I didn't need or want him in my breeding program. Oddly, 'Hayling', its kid, lived but even it really didn't prosper.
