Thread OP
New York (Hudson Valley)
I'm new to gardening with planters. Tried it in buckets last year, with only limited success. I amended the soil, but I don't think well enough. Is there anyone out here who is proficient at growing in cedar boxes, and could walk me through it? Some of the things I'd like to know are:

-What should my soil mix be (product, percentages)?
-What should I use to fertilize?
-When should I fertilize?

Any help/insight that any of you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if you have any information on growing vegetables upside down, I'd also be interested in any info. you might have about that. Thanks!
