I am a amputee from a traffic accident 6 yrs ago. I have struggled with things to keep me occupied and busy as I was a very active person one day and early retired without legs the next. I have fought with depression and pain since my accident, but have in the last 2 years started to turn a corner on the depression, and the pain I am suffering has subsided without medication (thank god). I have taken up computers (recreationally) and have recently decided to take up container gardening (in my northern facing Florida room). My Dad was a great gardener all his life and unfortunately I never learned very much from him as I was always too busy with work and my life. Even more unfortunately he passed away 2 years ago and I no longer have that WWII font of wisdom to go to. Which brings me to my point of joining this forum. I was hoping to get help for my problems from some of you expert gardeners (like my Dad). I have started growing some vegetables in 3 containers, and some of the Wife's flowers (orchids and lilies) in another. I would like to post some pictures of what is happening to them to find a way to fix the problems, but I first need to learn where to post in order to get the help I need. Is there a vegetable and tomato section, or an orchid section I can look to for help. Thanks Rich

@Jaszman, welcome!!! It is one of the best gardening forums ever!
Please also check out the Ideas forum and please post some of your ideas there when you are ready. There've been a lot of questions in various places about how to get to plants when you have to sit, i.e., if you're in a wheelchair or just plain old have bad knees. Here's a link to that one: https://garden.org/forums/view...
I love your username. Are you into music too?

Welcome! Plants can be addictive in a good way. I got really hooked on gardening when I stayed home with kids, as there was always something I could do in the yard.
