I find that pocket planting has always been fun to do but a little more challenging than it looks. One has to come back a few times to check the soil level, the positioning of the plants as well as the combination of plants within the pocket. Watering, light exposure, and/or the wrong combination of plants can lead to soil washing out, plants heaving out of the meager soil, and companion plants not enhancing each other. Here's a few pockets I checked on last night and aside from general clean up, I saw that extra soil, re-positioning of rosettes and some ripping out of plants were needed.
