If you discover the roots are in peat, do not pot-up, that will just kill the roots, generally, for any succulent. I've stopped buying the little cactuscollection.com/Altman plants from BBS's that aren't already big enough to propagate for this reason.

When the stems get tall enough to propagate, you can start them in a decent soil that will fall off whenever repotting is needed in the future. Should also propagate from individual leaf but obviously takes a lot longer.
