If your bed is on a slope be sure to place the larger rocks intermittently so when you get big rains you don't get a steady stream with no breaks or it will wash your smaller rocks out. If you don't use bigger rocks with it it can wash it into your yard when you get the big rains (experience talks here nodding ). I also like to plant flowers close to the edges here and there and not have the borders straight.
