Ditto what Aspenhill said, Jan--we'll miss you but what a wonderful time it sounds like! Glad Jeff is better!

Jan, I hope you and Jeff have fun!

I don't know what the Chantell and chickweed connection is, but last fall a neighbor of mine asked me what chickweed looked like and whether I could help her find some (apparently it is a good herbal for relaxing baths). I just told her that we are now in the chickweed season and that if she didn't have enough in her own yard she could come pull some from mine.

Sally and Chantell, there is Velvet Field Chick Weed (Ceraastium velutinium) for sale at a native plant sale I'm going to on Sat. Want me to pick up a few pots for you?

Anyone want to try the Green Comet Milk Weed? Would be nice to have a few people grow it so we could compare notes....Sallyg?

See this post for a link to Chesapeake Natives available plants

Chantell, milkweeds are slow and late to emerge. Let me know if you need replacements or want more and I will happilly oblige

LOL @ Cam!! I thought we had met...maybe it was a premonition Confused Funny thing...4 years ago I was clueless who Blake Shelton was...now I love listening to country music!! LOVE Reba's sense of humor!

No worries all about the chickweed...if you have some that's not been exposed to yucky stuff then I'll happily take it...my friend makes the best pesto with it!!

Jan - sounds like you've been going through some difficulties...I'm so sorry...but very happy to hear it sounds like things are looking up. Very jealous of your cruise and sad I won't get to see you but have an amazing time and take lots of pics...ok?

I will happily accept any milkweed...esp the good ole fashion one with fragrant blooms...

And I have two pots from ?last? year maybe year before that are ready to go in the ground soon...but don't know what they are. May I post pics 'here' later or should it be in it's own thread?
“Little girl, why are you doing this? You can’t save all these starfish. You can’t begin to make a difference!” After a few moments thought, she bent down, picked up another starfish & hurled it as far as she could into the ocean. Then she looked up at the man and replied, “Well, I made a difference to that one!” Be the change you wish to see in the world. http://www.stillsthatspeak.com...

Chantell, you can post the mystery pots here, or maybe on swap plant chat or MAG yardening thread... hopefully somebody will recall them!

@ Chantell... I met so many people, maybe we did. If so, my apologies. But if we didn't and I see you at the swap and ask for your autograph, just sign it as "to Cam, from Reba, with Love". That will make me Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! You can tell me later that it was just you and not Reba... let me have a few moments. Deal ? Thank You!

Chantell, I think it was at the swap at Muddy's house when I gave you several plants of milkweed, swap I think and little plants because you were going to send some down to Becky. Will be happy to refresh your stock. Putting you down for 'fragrant' Milkweed, 2-3 plants unless you want more
Common = honey. lilac. vanilla
Swamp = sweet tea, wild cherry
Swamp 'Ice Ballet' = lemons
Purple = grapes

Jan, I'm pre missing you! My best to Jeff. How sweet to walk together every day! Blessings.

Just got a news up date from Monarch Watch/ Journey North,

MariposaMaid - Apparently you have participated with this group in its DG days under a different identity. Are you perhaps Judy, aka coleup? If so, no need for secrecy, welcome.

Yes, Yes, YesYes I'm coleup on DG and Mariposa Maid here!
Actually I am coleup here, too as a charter member! When I tried to post here in Dec because of all the changes I couldn't log in as coleup because I couldn't remember my password and couldn't get a reminder because old email address was defunct. So I just set up a new account/ name and hung out mostly in the Sandbox forum here and the site updates at DG. While on DG I tried to steer those who showed up on MAF like Becky and Chantell over to here where most everybody has landed, and where I feel most 'at home'!

Thanks for the welcome and the same back at you!

Off to change my profile now that I have been outed!

Mariposa Maid aka Judy aka coleup.

HaHa Cam! Now you won't get to see my getup for the Swap! I figured dark glasses, new teeth and long flowing hair (no scarf) would just about do it. Guess the Monarch butterfly and my shameless plant promotion gave me away!

Hey Gita! Nice to chat with you again! Maybe we'll get to ride in Sally's plant mobile one more time and do some good catching up! I've been itching to say that Darwin will turn over in his grave if you really do show up at the swap with only your covered cassarole dish in hand and NO plants!!!! You are such a giver.

Mariposa means butterfly in Spanish. Makes me feel a little exotic and the maid part adds a touch of humble...

Have you seen Pincushion Flower 'Fama' at your HD? Gee it is gorgeous! Two have already come home with me. (Is there a Plant Addicts thread here?)

Oh, I thought coleup was just lurking in the forums! I had no idea you were actually participating in the discussions! Blinking

Great detective work, David. I was thinking that I'd forgotten meeting someone named Mariposa at a prior swap. Hilarious! I have such a terrible memory for names that if you'd told me that I'd met Mariposa at Muddy's, I wouldn't have argued!

Life is "mind over matter". If I d
Judy--aka Coleup-- Welcome!
I, for one, have missed you terribly--with all this stuff of the changes and people going
from here to there--and from there to here.....I feel rather "homeless". Like--I have lost my "family".

I am still learning my way around here at ATP--having some ups and downs along the way.
Doing Ok though. Not as "at home" as I felt at DG.
I still check out DG every morning--I still D-mail donner from there. She is going through
some rough times. Please send her a "Hello'...

Did you see pictures of my 3 pots of Tropical MW? From cuttings. One of them is already done blooming.
I keep looking at my Swamp MW spot--NO signs of growth yet. Do you know when it wil/should sprout??

This weather is sooo unpredictable! More like totally insane! Hope it settles down in a week or so.
Please stay in touch with us all! Hugs, Gita

Here are my 3 pots of TMW cuttings I took last fall. They all rooted and are doing well.
I have kept them under my small light set-up.
