Around here a couple of things are blooming, mostly repeats.
C. Sacramento Rose is one of those windowsill Catts we are always asked about. I mounted this one a few years ago and it is happy.
Epi longipetalum x L. lundii blooms every so often, this one is also a smallish plant.
And Renantanda Boon Rubb opens a spike. This one came potted up and I realized last year that there was absolutely no root to anchor that plant. It was simply a cutting and stuck into a pot. I removed it and the plant has been growing some nice free roots over the Summer.
...and here is the whole Renantanda Boon Rubb, I had to remove a couple of plants first before taking some more pics. Old and new growth are better visible here too.

My Bl. Star Ruby 'Xanadu' has 4 flowers, 3 open and one ready to pop tonight. I waited until the last bit of evening light in an effort to get the deep elegant colors on it. Very velvety looking right now.

LOVE that Xanadu Elaine! Ursula, your Boon Rubb is SO healthy (and pretty!).
I haven't had a chance to get here much (I have my first show this weekend at the Pumpkin Festival) cause I've been so busy. I have some more photos of the Stanhopea that bloomed last month....it has one tiny inflo still growing on it as we speak, Im hoping I can get that one to the Orchid Society in November, but we'll have to see.
This is my MAJOR excitement, Elaine even drove over to see it! I'm so lucky I even saw it....I haven't been out in the yard much, but I went out for a few minutes and turned in just the right way and there it was! A first time bloomer for me!
I just got home from another library presentation and I think it is too late to fix something for dinner so I poured myself a nice glass of Cotes Du Rhone and will call it a day. Let's just say I had fruit for supper.
I've had a silly smile on my face ever since we learned Alice suffered only minimal damage to her property. Great news like that doesn't come along every day.
Love the Stanhopea and the Medusae. I seem to have killed my share of those. The orchids that go into dormancy never seem to come out of it for me.

Isn't that Bulbo. Medusa the same kind that "she who shall not be named" on the "old forum" used to comb it's hair before a show with chop sticks?
Patty's big one has a perfect coif although the smaller one is a little disheveled. I really liked that you posted the pictures sideways first, because, tired as I am, I caught myself thinking "Gee it must be a lot more windy at Patty's house than here .. .. " before I realized.
