I agree totally agree! I love looking at the blooms, new or old. It is just like walking by your garden and seeing that they are still in bloom. The longer the blooms stay the happier I am!

Just like my repeat blooms, Sharry Baby (yummy smell... Like chocolate?) I have 2 varieties of these that smells great but different coloration. And 2 that are Unscented.

Heh, Sharry Baby is always a winner in my book. Mine smells like a combo of Chocolate and Vanilla, what's not to love, right?

I agree and thanks for the correction on the name. I didn't realize it is "Sharry Baby" until now.

Gigi, ask the flower dept. manager at your local Publix to order some of their Hawaiian orchids for you; they have a deal with a grower and I have seem many different varieties in my store. They seem to get a shipment every few months. The gal who manages the flower dept. here tells me the Phals usually just sit on the shelf but the Hawaiians fly out the door. Recently our store had a special display of Vandas and the people were fighting over them.

I haven't read all the threads, but since I have a nice bloom on Emerald Isle I thought I'd share it here. There are also 2 buds "waiting in the wings" to show themselves. My Vanda is putting out a bloom spike too.

I'll need to go back and read all the other "pages" here.

my store had artificially dyed orange phals this week...it's hit and miss!
Gigi, I did ask my floral manager..for something other than Phals..and happened to be there on a day when they were unpacking a couple of boxes of plants from Hawaii...it was a mix of Catts and Onc. I made a point of buying 3 just to prove that they would sell...well, and they were really pretty and so cheap..later on in the week I noticed that there was just one left..a Catt that had the buds knocked off of it in the shopping frenzy no doubt.

Our Phals were all dyed hot pink for breast cancer awareness. We never see Catts here or they are all snatched up before I get to them. Ours are usually Dens or Onc.

We had pink Phals out here as well. I looked at the tag and apparently there is a whole line of Jewel Phals. About 10 different colors. None of them natural

Great suggestion Alice and Lindsey! I will let you know what they say. I did see Vanda's and bought my VPachara for $40 in our local Publix.

Anna beautiful yellow Catt, bet it is fragrant! Can't wait to see your Vanda blooms!

Yikes on the colored Phals!!

Something really blue here! Vandachostylis Charm 'Blue Star' managed another spike. I love the color on that one.

and this tiny Dendrobium rigidum shows a few blooms. In my hands it gets lots of sun and daily floods. I likes the spot over the fish tank together with other miniatures.

And an update on the Renantanda Boon Rubb, the buds keep on opening

Yes, it's very quiet around here, which I can tell you appeals to me a little bit because I am currently babysitting a sleeping 6-month old. Big Grin Frost on the lawns here this morning - Brrrrr!

Just love the color on the Boon Rubb, and Ancistrochilus is really pretty, too. I miss my orchids a bit, but your pictures keep me happy.

Days are gorgeous here, in the 70's thankfully because I am also planting bulbs and other stuff at my daughter's. But when it's clear, at this altitude the temp drops very fast at night.

Just spoke to DH at home and it's cooling off there somewhat, as well. Supposed to get down below 70 at night this weekend . .. . Heavens, we might get to open the windows soon! Orchids will be happy with some lower humidity too.
