The Stanhopeas look great, I wish I could smell it!! Lovey dubby

Well done on the Bulbo medusae! I find them to be very temperamental!

I was priviledged to be able to enjoy a sniff of Patty's Stanhopea in bloom, and WOW was it ever wonderful - just like fresh baked cinnamon rolls. Or was it muffins?

Beautiful show! Love the color on Xanadu, and the Medusae is wonderful! Lovey dubby

My 'Emerald Isle' is putting on quite the show now. Hurray!

And I couldn't resist a closeup of the touches of what I'm calling "Heather".

You're right, Lindsey there's a huge variety of fragrances - some are sweet, some spicy, some exotic and heavy, and some are downright stinky - those Bulbos for instance!

New openers for me today are some nice fresh Yellow Birds on the big raft. These get a small amount of the exotic jasmine-y nodosa perfume after a few days, but not nearly as much as their mother. Xanadu got in the way here . .

Pretty!

Around here my Rlc Magic of Mishima 'Volcano Queen' opened some more nicely scented blooms.

And, perhaps you might remember me lamenting the demise of my huge Ornithophora radicans. I had managed to pluck out some pieces before tossing the whole dead mess and actually wound up with a bunch of stable growths. Here is one of three groups again, this one started up in a coconut shell, and we have a few spikes in the works. I am hoping these pieces will take off again.

The thread "Our Orchid blooms in September 2016" in Orchids forum

Another month went by, filled with lots of beautiful and interesting blooms and good discussions and here we are looking at October!
Rlc Magic of Mishima 'Volcano Queen' blooms this Fall for the first time for me. It did well outside over the Summer and I see 3 spikes in the works. The first one opened just in time to start the month! The fragrance is beautiful!
The color looks almost perfect on my IPad here, perhaps it needs to be shade darker. This is one of those dark hot pinks which are tough to capture with most cameras. The IPad camera does a bit better in this department, at least when viewed on Apple monitors.

Thank you!
Prabhi! This one is a good plant to grow, I have never seen a bug on it and it blooms every so often without any real season, it is an easy grower for sure.

Lindsey, Rustic Spots looks great, old or new!

You repeat all you want to, Ursula. Other than a couple of Elmhurst and some terrestrials, I have nothing blooming. Sad

You've got an amazing show in purple going on there, Ursula. Spots and floof and fragrance all happening at once.

You know I'm all in favor of repeat pictures - any picture of any orchid is a sight to behold. Plus the thread gets a little boring without pictures if we go a few days with nothing new. I figure if I don't get tired of looking at my orchids every day . . . and a lot of them go through color variations too.
