I'm fairly certain this is one of the Smartweeds. Have a look at the photos of Persicaria maculosa to compare.

I agree, that's a variety of Smartweed (Persicaria) and indeed looks to be a match for P. maculosa.

I'm an old gal who still loves playing in the dirt. Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot!
