The worst I've seen was 105 with 3 vents and the door open, and fans running. Nothing seemed to object except the fish in the pond.

Wow! That was hot indeed! At that temps, my succulents are just doing standby mode..except for the Adeniums, they enjoy those sizzling temps very much and daily watering.

Fortunately that only happened for about a week this summer. Last summer was hotter than this year.

Adeniums do love those temps. I remember the first Adenium I ever saw was on a sidewalk in Phoenix in the blazing sun when it was 115. It looked totally happy and I had to knock and ask about it. I couldn't believe anything so lovely and full of flowers could take the blazing sun and heat.

The deck is covered so they are out of rain which is the reason I'm trying this...
Here are a couple pics from today, I hadn't looked at it for a month and wow has it grown!
It is in a 10 inch pot to give an idea of size

So pretty! Lovey dubby Are the leaves always variegated Greg? Or is it just because of the shade growing??

I got this from SMG succulents and yes always variegated I thought they all were? In early spring I'll be glad to share some but need reminders. I'd really like to share this plant and it grows rapidly for me here in Seattle
I tip my hat to you.

Mine makes solid green leaves, it was prettier when I first got it last Oct 2012 Big Grin , lots of leaves all over. But after that, just sporadic leaves here and there.

Sometimes, that is why I am wary getting my succulents from the Bay area, their growing conditions are cooler, many plants suffer on my side because of our very long hot and dry days. It takes awhile for them to acclimate or for me to remember I have to move them around during summer, cannot take too much direct sun and winter, cannot take too much rain.

My leaves are all solid, but not the bright green you have. Mine are always a gray green no matter how I treat it.

I know what you mean. Too many times our garden centers in Arizona sell things grown in much cooler climes. They don't do well for us unless treated very carefully and babied until they get used to our hot dry climate.

You'd think they'd only sell what would live for their customers, but no, they sell the pretty things that no one can grow there!

Well I think my plant would need some babying from anyone taking it, because it is currently in part shade and cool climate.

By the way I did check and it is a variegated form, I got it from SMG - 2inch pot but the plant grew really well and fast!
