@plasko20 Orion, so cool. Can't believe the buds and what I see of branching on that having been planted November 2022. The broken color too. I tip my hat to you.

Thank You!
Well, it was grown indoors over winter to speed things up.
Not seen a winter yet.
It may not come back in 2024 if it is not cold hardy, so I am just enjoying it as much as I can right now. Crossing Fingers!
But yeah, there are a couple of side branches, too. And already it is instant-reblooming and sending up a new scape. I could not wish for better than that (well, if it is pod and pollen fertile, of-course).
Thumbs up

Looks great, Orion I tip my hat to you. I hope you can use the pollen this year, or freeze it for future use Crossing Fingers!

Thank You! Dave and Char. The Butterfly Music seedling has great bud count and branching, so Crossing Fingers!

I have some others from the Madawaska Mist x Smoke Gets in Your Eyes cross. Since it is raining, I am going to sort those out this afternoon.

Oh my wonky seedling ESXYP213 bloomed less wonky:

And sibling FFO, looking bleh (had a better white fringe last year):

These are just place holders, really. I use seedlings to see what areas daylilies can be grown to tuck in a good one in the future.

FFO on Cliffjumper x Purple Pathways, 2nd year seedling CJXPP212:
Thumb of 2023-08-09/plasko20/8021ac
Last year was a nicer pinkish color, the purple is not as cute. Also had a bigger throat last year. Hopefully the next blooms will be a different shade.

The whiter fringe is finally beginning to show on the ESXYP211 second year seedling:

I take it you were hoping for some broken color. Maybe future blooms will show some. Isn't that fairly common, for the first blooms to be solid and then the broken color to appear later?

Also I would not describe a bloom with pretty ruffles as "plain."

You are right.
"Plain" was in reference to solidly colored.

But nobody has ever posted what ratio EITPF gives broken colored babies for them. 1-in-10?, 1-in-50?, 1-in 4? Who knows. Shrug!

I am just playing around to find out what that number may be for me.
And, rather than using a single cross I am crossing it widely over different parents (pod or pollen), and will average the number over all of them. To get it on the first try would have been very lucky, so I am not too sad.

A bit late to this thread but with a lot of new seedlings beginning to bloom for their first time this year (some started in 2020, some in 2021, a few in 2022), I have been first and foremost trying to catch pictures and setup the matching records with the photos.

This first seedling has an unregistered parent (Gillian x unk) and a bee-pollinated pod, so potluck on the parentage... and it polys on and off again...
