It snowed this morning and was alarming for awhile but now the sun is out and the new snow is gone, not the old snow.

Just the idea that the cold will be with us to Easter (April 20th) is so depressing.

I checked the 10 day forecast and we'll have snow daily except for next Wednesday. I definitely want to sleep until it's gardening weather!

I cannot complain too much but it has been bad for the south compared to what we are use to. Nothing like the North, they are the pro's, and yet they have been overwhelmed too! It's just the winter that would not go away, enough already!!

@pirl, try not to look at the weather 10 days in advance, too depressing, besides they will change it 10 times. LOL. Rolling on the floor laughing

The South has had a rough winter. My clematis friends in Georgia have really had it rough. The snow has a way of dampening our gardening spirit.

You're right! It probably will change 10 times. The least these weather services could do would be to just say that any snow we get will be insignificant (even if they're wrong).

That might make us all feel better. Unless they would like to come out and admit that they do not know. Hilarious!

Now it sounds like the Sunday - Monday storm might be a big one, they are now predicting a high of over 2 feet. We have had just shy of 66 inches so far. I need this Winter to end.

@kqcrna, do you have a back-up heat source? I have only been through one ice storm, I remember the power went out and I ran out of money and wood. It was a terrible feeling.

@NJBob...UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!! Crying

No Susan, we have no other heat source, and we lose power often. Most of the time it's for a short period (hours) , but there have been some long ones. When the remnants of Hurricane Ike came through we lost power for a week. Fortunately, temps were mild. Another time we lost it for a week in October, and it got pretty cold in the house. Two years ago we lost power for no reason (no storm) in the summer when the temp was 100°.

Please don't ask me why I live in Ohio. We are often on the "freeze line" in winter storms: that area between snow to the north and rain to the south.

I hope it is not too bad, I like having something around as a heat source. We have a newer Kerosene heater in the garage and I love it. It has a catalytic converter and we use #1 kerosene so it never stinks or smokes. They are approved for use inside a house as well. So if we did loose power I would carry it into the house. I do not have a fireplace at this house, so it is nice to have something. Thumbs up

By March 20th we can shovel our gardens instead of the usual spring cleaning of old leaves!

Oh MY! Bob, that's awful. I just heard on the local weather that they still don't know the exact path of this weekend's storm. We are to get it, probably as mostly ice and sleet. Some could be snow, some rain... it's a toss-up. But he did say it has the potential to be our worst storm of the year.

Currently 11° with sub zero wind chills.

The Arctic Air Mass is here now and we have managed to get up to 12 this morning. Yipee!

If the two air masses, one down south and one up north, collide - we'll get hit hard. If the warm air coming from the south has more oomph we'll get rain. We're hoping for rain!

I am hoping for the best, for the sake of the north. I was watching weather.com and they are still using words like 'may', 'could', 'might' ,so hopefully they will be wrong, even a little bit wrong would be good! Smiling

When the CBS weather guy, Lonnie Quinn, sheds his jacket and rolls up his sleeves, we'll know it's BIG trouble for us!
