Rats can do some major damage to cars. Costly things to fix. Chewing through gas lines & such. I've heard some real horror stories!
We had our first frost of the season this morning. It was a hard frost & I took photos but it doesn't show up like in real life. Here are the only 2 worth anything.

Seems strange to me that you are half a zone warmer than I am, yet you have had frost already. One more rather pointed, "No, you don't know it all." from Mother Nature??
That is crazy, Ann! We only got down to 38 here last night! It's hard to believe that it was colder there than it was here! Great pictures, and I sure can see the frost!
Jackson always lets us know if a rat has been around the truck. We haven't had any damage, but I know that we've just been lucky.

Went down to a delicious 45 last night. As we sleep with the sliding door open in the bedroom we woke up to a pretty cold bedroom but no complaints from us. We are loving this !! Just pile on more blankets.

38 and raining here today, we had a hard frost the night before and yesterday the Hawthorn tree dumped all of it's leaves by afternoon, was rather strange to see.
Our neighbor in Utah has a huge tree that drops almost all of its leaves at once. It is so beautiful when it changes colors, but you don't get long to enjoy it, unless you enjoy all of the color on the ground! Makes for a quick cleanup though.

Exactly Debra, and it wasn't windy so they mostly just fell straight down, that tree is the last to get leaves in the spring and the last to change color and lose it's leaves in the fall, it looks real pretty with it's rusty leaves, this year it has quite a few red berries.
Weather yesterday was in the 50's and really not too bad. Guess our bodies are getting used to the cold already. Today it is supposed to start raining in the afternoon.
We're having a slight warm up & then another cold front with low's in the mid to low 30's. They had rain predicted for the end of the week but now they've amended that down to 10% on Thursday. We NEED some rain!

I agree Rita, we must get out and enjoy it while we can. It is a lovely day here too, a little breezy but 48 degrees on this date is awesome! I am going to go out and rake the leaves, maybe if I give them a little lift the wind will catch them and they will blow into the neighbors yard.
We haven't had any damage, but I know that we've just been lucky.
