rainy !!!! Smells wonderful outside, lots of woodsmoke smells, one of my favorite scents.....and that wonderful rain scent, which we now know as 'petrichor'....and I think I should add the smells of muffins and cookies, maybe carrot cake for Jer....cuz I sure never get time to do that when the sun is shining...

Oh lucky you to have rain..nothing here...it is sunny thankfully still cool. I even see low 90's this weekend. My garden looks quite a mess..lots of fallen twigs and leaves...my Fall chores abounds!
An absolutely gorgeous day for the annual Antique Car Show / Sea Cruise....generally has about 300 entries from up and down the coast and inland...today and tomorrow, fun for all. Sun is shining, so i will be weeding instead...LOL...

It made it to 89* here today, but at least it wasn't humid.
While gardening today I lifted up some rocks and found 7 baby alligator lizards. Scooped them up and relocated them to a safer place...away from the felines !
They say we had a mild earthquake yesterday (centered in Seal Beach 2 miles away).
Never felt it. I never seem to fell them when I'm outdoors, only when I'm in the house.
We've been having some earthquakes up here also...same with me, have not felt them. Should we all say good-bye now, just in case? Love the lizards ! and we don't have any here....we do have these strange ground dwelling spiders. I never see them UP on anything, but when I'm sitting there weeding, they're all over the place....

Mike, I like these echiums so much that they are going to be a repeating theme throughout the garden
I've come to fully appreciate this Cotoneaster after letting it grow out from the horrid hack job that had been done on it before we moved in...and I was thrilled that it produces so many berries for the birds, then sadly learned that the birds don't eat them....

Mike, Did you relocate your lizards where they can find those small caterpillars? They love them. I have a baby across the driveway that runs out to get the ones I throw on the asphalt.
