Smiling Phillip. All I can do at this point is wait on garden or yard cleaning until everything thaws out. We're suppose to get the same storm as Sue midweek, more ?. They are still unsure if it will be mostly snow, freezing rain or rain, depends on the storm track. A mess either way.
What a bummer Linda! You said it has been hot and dry....wonder if they (it) ate the flowers for the moisture? A number of years ago we had a very long hot dry summer, a chipmunk chewed holes in the hose to get to the water, it was hanging and all the bottoms of the loops were chewed where water would collect. I also noticed a chippie running back and forth through the seedling bed over and over....then I noticed my blueberry bushes moving. Yup, the little bugger was climbing up and stealing my blueberries! In the 25 yrs we've been here I've never seen this happen other than that one hot dry summer.
Down to 12 last night, a super clear dark sky with thousands of stars. Today the sun was warm, but there was a strong cold breeze making the low 30's feel colder than they should have.

@Char That is a possibility Char though I keep lots of water pans and fountains full in the back yard and one on the front porch. Shrug!

They are calling for a high of 85F. At least it cools off into the 50s at night. I dread to think what summer will be like.

I agree
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.

It has stopped snowing, nothing stuck and now it looks like it could rain, but that's ok, it will help wash away the last of the snow and clean the dirty streets. Hurray!

We broke a record that stood for over 120 years today. The old was 61 degrees fahrenheit. We got up to 62 today. Mother nature is sending us 2-6 inches of snow depending on location for Tuesday to make up for today. Thumbs down

It rained here last night but we are supposed to get up to 3 inches of snow by Wednesday.

Jean, be careful of a raccoon that is out during the day. That usually means they are sick. They are nocturnal and shouldn't be out wandering around during daylight hours.

Surprised to see everything all white this morning, only about an inch or so that should melt once it warms up a bit, only 23F degrees but sunny.

They are calling for a high of 86F. That is hotter that I like even in the summer. I don't know why it has been so hot.

I was impressed by it, too, when I first moved to Northern Illinois, but after living there for 35 years, I am more impressed by sunshine!

@Hemlady I get very concerned about the raccoon wandering around during the day and if I see him outside, I try to be extra cautious, but Thank You! for the heads up and concern.
