What do you think of Kordes Perfecta? How is the fragrance? Any pictures?
Wondering if I should get this rose.
Thank You!

My experience with it tallies with Paul - it's a Kordes but it's a particularly challenging Kordes and very far short of Perfecta as a descriptor. At its best it was kind of like Mr. Lincoln where it rests for about 2 months, puts out one or two blooms then rests for another two months. I never got mine above a wimpy one-cane wonder and it never bloomed much. It's also remarkably not hardy for a Kordes rose, not that this is a particular issue for you Carol since you winter inside. Still, it comes back from the winter very slowly and just doesn't give the bang for the buck. There are soooo many better Kordes HTs out there - Beverly topping my list - that I'd go with a different one to spend my effort on if I were you.

KP is a beautiful rose when it is "on", but it is not a prolific bloomer.

Hortico also sells 'Delany Sisters', which is a much more solid rose and has similar bloom colors.

In my view, DS, didn't get enough marking buzz when it was introduced and a lot of people missed out on growing a good rose.

You might want to take a look.

RoseBlush - I was thinking of Delany Sisters...but hmf says the fragrance is only "fair."

Cynthia - yes, I hear what you're saying about KP. Darn. I respect everyone's opinions here...so I'll pass on it. D'Oh! nodding

Carol ... fragrance is a recessive gene in roses, which is why many roses do not have a strong scent.

I just looked up DS on HMF and the description says the rose has a "strong fragrance".

I never seem to have time to stop and smell the roses in my garden. I am always surprised when I give someone a gift of blooms and they tell me how fragrant they are ... D'Oh!

Yes, but the the member's rating is for fair. I trust people who grow it. But thanks for looking it up for me. Smiling Thumbs up

For me fragrance is key. I do have a few roses that have no fragrance...but I won't buy any new ones without a strong fragrance. I really, really love my Chicago Peace...and there's no fragrance. I want to always have this rose.
