Unless your Snake Plant is already badly potbound, then I suggest that you keep it in its plastic pot and insert that pot inside the ceramic planter of your choice. The ceramic planter will not need a drain hole. You can make sure the plant is not sitting in water simply by lifting the plastic pot and peering inside. In addition, if and when your Snake Plant needs repotting, you can move it into a larger plastic pot and then put that inside the ceramic planter.

Snake Plants that are grown in good sunlight do grow rapidly and will stretch a plastic pot. However, if grown in moderate or low light, it may never need repotting. Don't try to anticipate growth and put it into a large pot prematurely.

Using "drainage material" is not a good substitute for a drain hole. Excess water can still accumulate in the bottom and may eventually rise above the drainage materiel and soak the soil and all of this is out of your sight.
