This iris is now blooming in my garden:

It is registered as being 35 inches tall and a mid-season bloomer.
Right now, it stands 18 inches tall in my garden from soil to top bud. To show
you how out of sync it is with the rest of my iris, here is a picture of
the raised bed it is planted in:
You can see that it has the genetic potential to have good branching, but on this particular
stalk the branches are too close together and one bloom is smooshed up against another bloom on another branch so they can't open properly.
Nevertheless, the bloom is stunning. The falls are a velvety blue-black that is almost black and
have a violet wire rim that looks like the sun is shining through the edges. The standards are a
moody blue.
There are some increases on this rhizome as well - I hope they bloom at the appropriate time so I
can see this iris at its full potential!
