Dot, do you remember if the Daylily Journal where BORN TO BE WILD was pictured was one from this year? I would like to see that, but I've only been a member for a couple of years now so I don't have that many.

I use a balsamic vinegar with a little bit of dish soap to "catch" the fruit flies. Tried it with saran wrap on top, and the stupid buggers couldn't even find their way in through the holes. removed the saran wrap and lo and behold, they swarmed - and died. Apparently the dish soap prevents them from flying so they drown.

I am bloodthirsty at times

I use vinegar or wine also. I use those little applesauce cups, fill them about l/4" full with either vinegar or wine for the fruit flies. It works great.

Just got my Floyd Cove order today. The plants were huge DF's of each. And I got an awesome bonus plant Marina del Ray. I couldn't be happier. Now to just get Born to be Wild this fall.

I received my order yesterday also. As Dot said, they sent huge fans and I got a nice bonus of Moving Pictures, a fall, '12 intro.

This is exciting! Makes me want our order to hurry up and come, but better to wait another 2-3 weeks when our weather should be warmer.

Stenciled di Fresco is such a nice daylily! I remembered Buffalo Thunder for the massive white ruffles next to a dark purple flower, and Volaris is just stunning!!

Ann, Moving Pictures is a nice bonus plant also! What all did you order?

So jealous of you all getting plants! All I got today was a dusting of snow...

We use narrow mouth jars with paper funnels that we make, and a piece of old banana to catch flies in the lab. Banana in the jar, funnel in the neck and a piece of tape to seal it. We've found they work well because the flies instinctively go up so they readily get trapped once inside. We're down the hall from a lab that uses fruit flies so they can be horrendous if not controlled. My former roommate worked on mosquitoes but thankfully they were larvae so they didn't hitch a ride home!

It was 23 degrees this morning, but I had potted all the new arrivals and they have been spending the day outside and inside the garage at night. We are expecting some warmer weather for the next few days. I ordered Midnight in Paris and Game Face. Today I called and ordered Stenciled di Fresco and Dancng Jubilee.

Born to Be Wild is due to be out in the fall collection. I already have it reserved. There is a very long list for it. If you want it, you better get your name on the list. It will be very expensive at $300.00 for a SF, DF's in the collection. I never buy a whole collection.

Ann and I usually do some trades. This year we traded a fan of Buffalo Thunder (I bought), for a fan of Midnight in Paris (Ann bought). We already have our trade fans in the mail. I would have traded more but I am so limited on space now. I did sell some to make spaces for this years stuff.

I don't buy the entire collection either. Anxious to see Ann's and your
photos of your new ones when they bloom.

I received my order from Floyd Cove yesterday, soaked them overnight, and got them potted up today. And what a wonderful order! I laid them out on an extra large bath towel for this picture, and I am just totally thrilled. I ordered eleven plants and received thirteen including two gift plants, and every one of them was at least a double fan and/or two or more huge fans except for one of the gift plants, which was a huge single fan. In the picture the ones that look like single fans are actually two or more fans tied together except for the one SF.

I ordered SPINEFELD, BEYOND PLUTO, BURMESE JADE, CHERRY ICE CREAM SMILE, CROWNING LIGHT, VERDANT SPRING, VIVACIOUS SPIRIT, TET. TIME STOPPER, TET. NAVAJO PRINCESS, TET. STAR CHILD and CHILD OF ATLANTIS. And over the weekend Karen contacted me to let me know that TET. TIME STOPPER wasn't as large as Guy wanted it to be for selling, plus they had just recently received TET. NAVAJO PRINCESS themselves and had listed it by mistake. So... no problem! I substituted ROLLERCOASTER RUSH and PIRATE'S PRISM for the two, and they will hold on to TET. TIME STOPPER until the fall for me. I'm already on the list for BORN TO BE WILD in the fall, so they can send my TTS along with BTBW at that time.

Oh yes, and they included two gift plants: MARINA DEL REY and MOVING PICTURES. I couldn't be more pleased! What a great order!!! And they are absolutely fantastic to deal with too!
