Well, after being at the gym this morning, I spent hours on yard clean-up this afternoon. I also flipped all of my compost, forkful by forkful. What a job! Lots of exercise today. I hope I don't pay for it tonight and tomorrow.
I just spent 3 1/2 hours up in the g'house..............filled the water tank, put in a bunch of Miracle Grow, watered, refilled tank, and then started on cleaning out the "corner" of the g'house that probably hasn't been looked at since 2003, when we DID the g'house. LOL Old, crummy, busted up pots..........you name it, it's probably back there. I already have 2 contractor bags of crap to burn.
DH and I took Charlie for a long walk today. Found out in the road 2 baby turtles (think they are yellow bellied sliders). Moved them off the road down to the edge of one of the ponds - cute little buggers. Charlie was not at all interested.
So after I got home and sat a while my friend comes over and asks if Lily and I want to walk the one mile loop with her and Zack. So off we went and I added another mile to my walking today.

Well despite my very painful glutes, shoulder, hand from the pruner and my knee, I got the long bed behind the house cleaned up, took awhile as I had to sit often to relieve the pain.
I cleaned about 60 chairs off that go at the tables at my sister's restaurant. She is hoping to open next week. The SU and I also cleaned the steam table insides. Eeww...........greasy stuff in there. (not the food containers part, the part that you set the containers INTO..........LOL)
The SU carried all the chairs upstairs and put the around the tables, as the chairs had been moved to the room downstairs because of a new floor being installed.
Well, we had a vigorous bell practice. The piece my ensemble will play at a massed concert on May 1 is Haleluya. We worked on it for awhile and at the end of rehearsal played it through once at tempo - quarter = 140. It was performance ready yet, but it will be by May 1. http://listeninglab.stantons.c...
And then, since I had the bell director who will direct the massed pieces at that concert subbing for someone in my group, I let her direct while I got to play bells. Since we have all of 15 minutes rehearsal time for each piece on concert day, it's very advantageous to my group to seen how SHE wants to direct it.
All in all, we got through all 4 pieces that we play either in April or at that concert. And I'm ready for a nap. But I think I'll go watch figure skating. We have another walk tomorrow. 4.7 km
Last night we had another "wildlife" encounter to round out the day with finding baby turtles. I had moved inside 2 tomato plants (huge ones) and 2 jasmine vines as severe weather was predicted. Since the prediction was for tornadoes, moving them inside would not have really helped, but I did it anyway. I will skip the part of the story when the tv and radios were saying tornado on ground 2 streets over - take immediate cover (scary, scary). Anyway, crossing the kitchen I saw a tiny green tree frog sitting on the floor. He must have come in on one of those plants and was apparently under the washing machine at some point as I heard noises there (maybe jumping up and hitting the bottom?) and Charlie was over there barking at something. With the concern about whether we should move to the storm shelter, I had ignored the noises and barking. Now there was the little fellow (gal?) sitting there, blinking. I put a clear plastic jug over him (her?) and then carried him (her?) out to the porch. Ran back in quickly as it was lightning and rumbling. He (she?) quickly hopped into the shadows - apparently glad to be outside even with a tornado threat This little creature seemed to ease the tension among the grownups as the grandchildren oohed and fussed over it before we put it out and gave us something to talk about besides where are the flashlights, everyone put on stout shoes, move the sleeping bags to the shelter, etc. Now we talked about the frog! Finally the threat disappeared (for today anyway).
