I finally found the perfect plant to round out my 'variegated' terrarium. Geogenanthus poeppigii, on the left, to compliment Begonia 'Rajah' and Ardisia turtleback.

..How cool is that begonia…. would be the happiest @Gina1960 follower to see the whole

This is the Fish Pepper Plant I bought online earlier this year. There is definitely something wrong with it. The main stem was so squiggly I had to tie it to a stake it to straighten it out. I would complain to the company but other plants I bought from them were, IMO, also deficient so I just do not want to do any more business with them so I will chalk this one up to experience and compost it.

Whoa, that is one lovely Hippeastrum, the foliage alone is stunning. A quick online search did not find any available for sale but I am going to continue to look for that one.

I've had Dracaena marginata 'Tricolor' for decades but looking at the beautiful stripes never gets old.

It only seems that way because I groom the plants before taking pictures. My place is such a messy jungle that I'm too embarrassed to allow visitors. Even the members of the local plant societies that I belong to and give presentations for have never been to my home.

I'll choose that over perfectly manicured meatball shrubs & grass any day!

Zigzag, Euphorbia tithymaloides

This Calathea Rattlesnake looked so pretty the other morning back lit by the sunrise. It's about 3 or 4 years old, grows outdoors, takes pretty cold temps.

I think that Tim at Gingerwood discovered that these are actually hardy in zone 8B-9ish!

A Schismatoglottis from Borneo, with ovate-lanceolate shining leaves of mid green with a pair of silvery band marking, plus a chimeric marbling type variegation of creamy golden yellow.
The brownish leaves with silvery white markings at the back is a Leea zippeliana

A Schismatoglottis from Sumatra, with sagitate-lanceolate shining leaves of green with hint of brownish tone. Mutant with marbling type variegation of creamy caramel hues.

A Schismatoglottis from Sumatra, with sagitate, silky, shining leaves of dark green and bluish tone. Mutant with zonal type variegation of creamy white patches.

I prefer Schismattoglottis to Homalomenas, since most Homalomenas grows very slowly on highland, where I do garden.

A Schismatoglottis from Borneo, with ovate-lanceolate mid green and silvery army pattern marking, plus a chimeric marbling type variegation of bright white. the petiole and abaxial are reddish.


A Schismatoglottis from Borneo, with sagitate leaves, the leaves on normal plants are green and shiny. A chimeric aurea type variegation, could also throw fully yellow leaves, but I prefer one with green and yellow. This one is quite large for a Schismattoglottis, it could easily grows 70 cm tall.

Those are pretty, Tofi! I've never even heard of that genus.
