Our grandson's birthday is December 25. We told him he has a very special birthday.

Have you ever Googled: Famous people who's birthday is/was _____ (your birthday?) Can be most interesting. One year I included such a list with my Dad's birthday card. I had done the research and found 34 names from throughout history. Great present, IMO. If you go to IMDB and go 1/2 way down the page there is always a list of stars born on this date. Today, one is Ava Gardner.

We went to a friend's for dinner last night (Eve). Today we went to the Legion with our neighbour and enjoyed their Christmas dinner. It was lovely. Seems funny not to have turkey leftovers!

@RpR I think you are a bit unusual in that the weather or lack of weather is getting you down in the dumps! I too was raised in northern Minnesota before we even had electricity and doing survival farm chores in the dark actually made my siblings and me appreciate some rather bland weather rather than what seemed like the "tundra". We saw it all, the aurora borealis, snowy owls, mosquitoes so large I think they could breed with wild turkeys, snow buntings, snow drifts into which we could dig holes and think we had our own private igloos, dads removing car batteries in the evenings from the car and taking them in the house to keep warm by a wood stove so its efficiency was improved so cars would start at minus 40-50 degrees F, and I could go on and on and at that time we were looking and praying for global warming.
How far north are you? We were just a short distance from the Canadian border. Our location was the northernmost point in the lower forty-eight states.
