Got up at 7 this morning and grandson came down when he heard me up. (He'd been waiting ). Immediately made the coffee and brethren started on dinner and I just sat down after Christmas with my kids and their families. We had a great day but I'm exhausted. This is the first time we've all been together for several years.

Mrs put the brisket in the smoker last evening and it's finishing in the oven now. Low and slow. House smells great. Coffee soon.

Morning Mac. I bet your house does smell delicious. I couldn't sleep and have been up a while. Watered inside plants. I tend to forget to water so am trying hard not to kill them.

We had a Christmas get together this past Saturday with my 2 sons and families, x husband, x mother-in-law and her daughter/husband, my son's half brother and his daughter, and my son's wife's mother and step father. Lots of x's and steps. It was a good time.

No company for tonight or tomorrow. Just DH and myself. Next Saturday will be another get together with almost the same as last Saturday. Will give the grandkids their gifts. I'm excited for that. I made 7 of these snowmen for each of the grandkids with gifts inside each section.

And good morning to you, Jeanne . We're having dinner today with Mrs son, his wife, and their son. They have other obligations for Christmas day. No big plans for us otherwise.

I have been up about 4am the last couple couple days this morning I went back to sleep ,not that excited ,
Last hour Mingles has been walking about talking , I have been talking Grandma into maybe a another after Christmas , He needs someone to play with
Until the 22nd they had a month of 10 $ adoptions of pets ,
I also know a neighbor and another with about 15 or 20 cats where if I can't adopt , i can still get another or wait until a kitten shows up next spring , it usually happens ,

Jim, do you have any non-profit adoption agencies in your area? A lot of them have spayed/neutered cats looking for homes, and often at a very minimal charge. Worth a look if you haven't done that already.

Mac a few individuals that have a lot of cats are all like that here The cats are spayed or neutered , Otherwise it costs and charges are ,
The 10 $ fee for the same cats all already done was a good little deal , Granny says when warm weather returns or after Christmas for the time to train them some ,
I took the black cat in to the shelter , There is another gray furry long hair walking about left behind when someone moved ,
I have trouble trying to train older cats and such , A good conditioned kitten would be better , Mingles is good with kittens still , he plays and playful enough without the male roughness ,
We taught Mingles and Tribbles to use a pan on the porch , They would ask to go out the door to do that , Mingles of course still does ,
Mingles looks at me and talks , and then takes me to where Tribbles laid or slept most of the time , He is still upset a little ,,

I have prescription to refill today , and tomorrow a drive to relatives ,
40 degrees or so is not bad for that ,
Good thing Bad thing about snow for Christmas ,

County I live in charges $100. to spay/neuter a cat. And there are people who complain about feral cats. Strange.

Gene I kind of of take any of that as the same of all , Everything is making everything more expensive .

30ish and gray. They said we could get a few flakes but nothing sticking or accumulating. The house is full of family and delicious smells of cooking.

Cooking again today then big family dinner with DH's extended family tomorrow. Last one is New Year's Day.

Had a busy day hanging out with my favorite person yesterday and getting him caught up with a few people he only gets to see when in town. Now have to make my butterfinger cake for tomorrow's deal.

Jim - Sis's friend (who works with rescues) was able to get a spayed, litter-trained rescue cat for my nephew as a comfort animal. Female calico about 1 year old was kicked out of her house when two dogs moved in. Not declawed though. Skittish at first but now is comfortable after about a month. Might have smelled the black lab that used to live in sis's place but no more.
