I had not heard of Floret Farms so I had to look it up. What an interesting variety of mostly sold out seeds. I got a kick out of the "breadseed poppies." Now that is an inventive name.

I wanted some tall stock seeds and tall snapdragon seeds, I only managed to get one variety of stock, light pink, I got some Iceland Poppies, Champagne variety, I hope they grow here as winter annuals, it's a risk worth taking.

I don't plan to order any seeds at the moment. But that could change!!!!

Just planted some six packs.. lettuce, spinach, basil, beet, kale...and one of "Iforget, check my notes.."

my (ahem) seed storage "system is simple:

1) all seed packets are filed in a card box with colored plastic dividers - mo alphabetizing but all of one kind go into the same section (for example, the red divider designates all my tomato varieties and the green divider signifies all my pickling cucumbers --the dual purpose and/or slicing cucumbers are in the back behind the ugly purple divider :lol:)

2) seed storag3 b ox goes into its own (dark) drawer in the living room, as the room is the most temperature/humidity regulated area

3) also in that seed storage drawer is a large rechargeable desiccant, whatever desiccant packets I accumulate from footwear, beef jerky, etc. and a few humidity indicator strips


Which reminds me: I need to check/recharge that big desiccant and order a bigger card file & dividers!!

Cam, isn't moringa a type of flower blossom? I will look it up at my health foods store, which I go to frequently. At this point I'm willing to try nearly anything for the pain. The best bargain I've found at the health foods store is their extensive variety of herbs and spices. Won't buy my peppercorns anywhere else. Also way lower prices than grocery stores. They sell stuff in Little zip lock bags. I have plenty of spice jars to transfer the herbs into.

I keep my seeds in the living room, too, in a desk drawer. It's been fine there, but I would like some kind of mini divider file to put in there.

Cam, I just checked out moringa, and although I didn't see treating nerve pain amount the many good things about this natural drug, I was sufficiently impressed by all its qualities to get some and start taking it. It's a tree, often called the drumstick tree, which grows in Africa and has been used for centuries. Every part of the tree is edible. It helps with cholesterol, blood pressure, losing weight, and it has anti inflammatory capabilities. It's packed with anti oxidants, iron, and many vitamins, specially the b vitamins. It can also be used to filter water and remove arsenic from water sources. An all around natural wonder drug. Oh, and it also treats skin issues.

Yeah I was impressed with the comments on the videos I've seen. I just got capsules on Amazon for 20$. It's too bad we can't grow it here.

I've never heard of Moringa, didn't know the roots are poisonous.

I just checked my email from Johnny's seeds, I did purchase Indigo Cherry Drops, same as Indigo Cherry Rose, but much more vigorous. I saw the dark cherries on my Instagram, full of antioxidants.

It's been a while since I been on here, so going to try and jump back in. I didn't plant much last year. Partly because I wanted to let garden lay for a year and partly health issues. But hopefully I'm back up and going for this year.

Howdy neighbor! Glad to see you back and hope you're getting better and better! My garden has been rather "roughish" these last couple of years. I'm hoping it will be better this year! Still fighting all the critters and disease I have been since the beginning but still enjoying what I *can* get to grow. Take care. Ed

I went to Lowe's to get some chicken manure for my roses, while there I bought some Bibb and Romaine Lettuce, and also some Swiss chard.

My rainbow chard had a hard time when it froze the other night, not sure if it will pull thru or not. On the other hand, the spinach had the frost cover blow off for several hours and hasn't slowed down...even the broccoli leaves look sad, but the heads are just growing on.

Wifi whiffy today-may be the rain, I can't see it. My volunteer supersweet100's are about to need a pot upgrade, or perhaps I will put them under that blue range plant light (lo light encourages root growth while it slows the top growth). Warmth is coming up outside and light drizzles are coming and going. My basil cuttings are blooming, the pepper plants are a gorgeous dark green( I haven't fertilized, they were just light deprived this summer) and I am pinching a few blooms off them.

Exactly the same thing happened to me. We had 24F, and I *thought* chard was pretty cold hardy, so I didn't cover it. Looking it up, it's really only hardy for light freezes. Looks like new growth coming up in the middle of most plants, so all is not lost. I've seeded more in cups to put in later, just in case.
