Oh you perked my interest on vinyl windows! That looks like a glass sunroom. I tip my hat to you. I might have to look into that, I have such a huge back porch that I can't enjoy because of the mosquitoes.

Do they get too hot summer time? Are you able to let the breeze in?

The porch is screened and the window sections slide up and down, so we can keep it open with screen and enjoy the breeze. Roof is insulated, so stays cool in the summer. Great to keep rain out of porch in the summer too.

We had our coldest morning this week, 30 this morning and frost on everything. I think it would be OK to remove covers and heat mats but I am waiting until tomorrow just to be sure.

I am waiting to remove covers too and I have a feeling after a week warm up followed by forecast of 2 days rain, it will get colder again.

It was 38° again this morning and a little bit of frost again. I didn't have anything covered since they said no frost and temps above 44. At least I didn't put any plants back out yet. Most the night it was above 40, so fingers crossed the plants are okay and my overhead trees protected them. Time will tell.

I will let mine stay inside for now but I will remove the camping blankets…and let the camping tent air out.

Ginger sorry to hear that, mine normally makes it for as long as the temps inside my tent are above 35 and the potting mix are totally dry.

But I agree I will not know the extent of the damage until after it warms up for good.

I am not sure if I am looking at the forecast correctly but it looks like in our area we only have 2 more days of below 50s next week then it will be above 50s Hurray! Hurray!

That is what I am seeing also but we will have to keep our fingers crossed. Sometimes around the time of the full moon, 02/05 this year, it can get a bit chilly. Crossing Fingers!

Sorry Ginger, but some might come back.

If you have a desktop monitor (not sure if it works on Ipad or phone), Weather underground's ten day outlook, click on the 10th day and you can see hourly for another five days...it looks really nice until Feb. 3rd. Only those few days the end of next week in the mid to upper 40's. Hurray!

I went hiking on the Florida trail yesterday with some gal friends, it was a really nice day, lots of Tillandsias on the trees were blooming.

Thank You! both, I will wait until after 2/05 to collapse my camping tent. Rain and below 50s weather is not good for my desert roses and succulents. Plumerias and other tropical plants can handle it better.

A couple of my bromeliads suffered severe damage but I am seeing tiny new offsets already. Hurray!

I use Birds Nest Sanseveria as a ground cover, it spreads like crazy, and it was completely killed from the cold but it also has new little offsets starting. You can't keep a good invasive down. Hilarious!

Evovulvus Blue My Mind was strange, some plants received no damage at all while others, right beside them with the same exposure, look dead.

Even my toasted coleus has some new leaf nubs.
My only bad damage was my Aechmea tayoensis. I had it under cover, it is actually three plants in the pot, too big and heavy for me to carry anymore. The wind blew the covering off and I didn't notice it until three days later. The middle of the plants still looks good, but all the outer leaves burned.

Rats chewed my cryptanthus leaves off in the pop up green house, they never bothered them when sitting out on the table in the garden. little creeps. Grumbling

Yikes I just got 7 desert roses out today and it is supposed to rain beginning early morning to 9am. And more rain on the next couple days.

Didn't get any rain here, could use some though. I still didn't take my desert roses in, I covered them again the last cold front. Just too big in huge terracotta pots.

Obviously my salvias like this cold weather....
The first bloom after my hack back in the late summer. I just put a beach umbrella up over them so they don't get frosted.

We had rain but and I still have some left over rain water to give the few desert roses that I am going to get out of the camping tent today. All inside the house desert roses (except cuttings I am trying to root in water) are out. All succulents and plumeria cuttings are going to come out today so they can slowly acclimate outside for good as these can handle the upcoming 2 days (early morning) forecast of 45 days next weekend. Weather app forecast indicate that is the last below 50s for us Hurray! Hurray!

Rain??? We have not had any in weeks. On the radar it always looks like it is about to hit us then it breaks up right before it gets here. The river seems to be where it stops then either goes north or south of us.
